I think it's noble that Edge3D has an interest in educating himself. It appears his education is a bit too loaded on the trade school / professional / technical side. I'm afraid his undergraduate institution failed him in some basics. He needs to pay a lot more attention to logical fallacies and basic rhetoric. Also, his instutution should have taught him about plagiarism.

This is a reason why people need to appreciate education for education's sake. Edge3D may be able to get by in terms of money with trade skills, but in order to be a good citizen he needs to beef up a little more on the classics, logic, writing, reading and comprehension.

Everyone should have a right to get a college education, and not _just_ a trade school degree from ITT Tech and the like.

I figured once he posted my post about my education (kind of a weak way to "slam" me, but whatever).. that somehow people would find a way to downplay what I do and the education I've done/am pursuing.

I think its funny how SERIOUSLY you guys take this stuff. First, I may be speaking what I TRULY think.. but I surely do it much more bluntly, less elequently than I am capable of.

And I NEVER plagiarize in school. Thing is, I wouldve included the source to that article had I recorded it. I've read thousands of articles on many political topics and save nearly every one of them, never intended to repost anything (never usually participate in these trashy P&N forums). I write my own articles (nearly a hundred of them) that I'd share, but you guys are much too biased to the left for me to waste my time doing that.
The original author said exactly what I was going to say anyway, and it took much less time. I know that its mainly only a big deal for some of you because you dont like me, you dont like what I say. Thats fine, and I understand that I ask for a challenge.. thing is, I just dont really care what happens to my blessed account here at AT forums.

Just telling it like it really is. I think you libs are delusional. Believe me, us conservatives are caged in this world of academia, surrounded by the sick culture of Bush-bashing on our schools. Maybe I'm just "letting loose".
Maybe with your mantra of "peace, love, understanding", you will come to accept me and show us all how truly accepting the liberals are.. because conservatives all KNOW that you guys are really terrible people. I've been the to ANSWER sponsored anti-Bush rallies in Chicago. Your types are truley disgusting, and I'll never ally myself with anyone allied with the communist-front group ANSWER, or the Democratic party which has been overtaken by the far left for some time now.

Believe me or not, I HAD an open mind.. but I have learned and seen enough of the Left in America today.

I really would be interested in seeing those articles.

No way in hell unless this forum is a LOT less volatile than they way its been since I came to it. Not going to happen until the Mods quit being biased towards the left wingers. A lot of those guys push it too far, too often and nothign happens. So, Im excercising my apparant right to be an ass as well.
I dont see how you guys expect, or are inviting to any SERIOUS inquiries at all.

Its all about bashing Bush around here. Bush-bashing is for the uneducated and those who need a quick and easy blame in a political year.

It makes people like me, who originally was thinking this would be a place to hear from intelligent people join in the flame fest. Why not? I mean, if I get banned from a forum filled with people who sit around and, "one-up" each other and assume they are actually helping their cause.. need to pull their head of their ass... I could care less if I get banned in the next 10 minutes.. I'll just read a few more books a week instead of waste my time here.
I'm surely going to employ or control a bunch of people who think just like you liberals someday. Its the natural order of things in a capitalist society.

I'm a political activist and have worked a couple hundred of manhours already locally for President Bush's reelection. I see this forum as a joke filled with jokers.. its neat to see some of your responses but its clear its not to be taken seriously.. or have any serious amount of time devoted to it.

You do? It appears you take things really seriously when you enter into furious tirades. Do you think that's funny too?

First, I may be speaking what I TRULY think.. but I surely do it much more bluntly, less elequently than I am capable of.
That's great to hear. Let's see what you are like when you are more eloquent. That would be a big help for everyone

And I NEVER plagiarize in school. Thing is, I wouldve included the source to that article had I recorded it. I've read thousands of articles on many political topics and save nearly every one of them, never intended to repost anything (never usually participate in these trashy P&N forums).
Do you save the articles or not? If you do, you should know their source from the saved file.
Also, I think a lot of people would point out that you are making the P&N forums trashy by plagiarizing.

I write my own articles (nearly a hundred of them) that I'd share, but you guys are much too biased to the left for me to waste my time doing that.
This is ad hominem. You should challenge our arguments, not our bias. Google for "logical fallacies" if you are interested in logic.

There is nothing wrong with citing to other articles as many people do. Just give them their credit.

Just telling it like it really is.
No, you weren't. Had you done so you would have mentioned the article was from a website and that you hadn't read it.

I think you libs are delusional. Believe me, us conservatives are caged in this world of academia, surrounded by the sick culture of Bush-bashing on our schools. Maybe I'm just "letting loose".

The previous paragraph is a hodgepodge of wild assumptions, generalizations, and insults. Please look up logical fallacies on google. It's not a right-wing or left-wing thing. It's a logic thing.

Believe me or not, I HAD an open mind.. but I have learned and seen enough of the Left in America today.
You are admitting you are close-minded. It will be hard to pursue higher education if you don't have an open mind.

That says it all right there.

You're rather new here but you automatically generalize by calling everyone up here a "lib".

You really show off your ignorance with that remark.

Your post is just a hypocritical attempt to make yourself look better than everyone around you. For example, you criticize people for one-upping each other. Then you suggest you are not a joker like the rest of the posters are because you're a political activist. You are doing precisely what you complained of.

Have you learned the golden rule in school? Treat others how you yourself would want to be treated. That includes applying the same rule to others that you apply to yourself. If you think people shouldn't bash, don't engage in bashing yourself. If you think people shouldn't one-up, you shouldn't one-up other people.

Its aweful hard to have an open mind to the types of people who would agree with the people I know who say that "Bush is Hitler"

Sorry boys, but anyone who allies themselves with this far left belief.. or even remotely approaches it utterly disgusts me and I'm not going to have an open mind then. Who in their RIGHT mind would?
I know what kind of people you guys are.
If over half of the Democratic party wasnt overtaken by this kind of extreme anti-Bush hatred I could very well be a bit more "liberal" myself. But instead it only pushes those like me, away.

Yer losing votes and losing America. A more centrist Democratic party would go a LONG ways.
Kerry is trying to appear centrist, but I dont believe him... hes simply the wrong man for these times.

Give me Lieberman and a Democratic party who actually believes in the things that man says.. and I very well could someday be a Democrat.

Wow this is quite the entertaining thread...

My advice to Edge: Life's too short to hate people you don't really know. These "libs" you're decrying are fellow Americans and human beings just like you. They're not bad people, and they have good intentions. You might not agree with their stances on certain issues, but that's no reason to villify them as monsters.

My advice to the rest of you: Lay off the kid. He's taken enough heat for now.

You understand that what you just wrote was so ironic it's beyond words? You want responses that aren't flames yet you fail to see the trolling nature of all of your responses. Maybe it isn't intentional but instead of crying about a "flamefest" why don't you clean up your responses and OPs instead of immediatly attacking?

Also, feel free to PM those articles.

No, you are correct. I act like a joker just like the rest of you. Although I belive in real life many of you guys really ARE this low and pathetic. If any of you have a job, you probably actually DO spout the kind of retarded BS thats posted here.
I'm just enjoying swimming with the pigs once in a while.

Enough.
