Can someone explain this 'superdelegates' thing for me?

Anybody know of a good article to read or something? I'm not quite sure what's going on.

There are a couple threads on this topic if the search function works anymore. Basically super delegates are former or current congressmen/senators/political office holders who's vote counts as a delegate. OTOH normal voters like us, it takes thousands to equal one delegate. Its a ridiculous method meant to keep those who have power/connections retain it. Its stupid and not very "democratic" IMO.
