Can someone explain these benchmarks?

I have a 9800 gx2, 2 9800 GTX in sli, but on Tom's hardware benchmark for Far Cry, etc. here:

a single 9800, and even an 8800 is FASTER than 2 9800's in sli?

Don't trust those benchmarks, although it's possible SLI wasn't working when they ran their tests.

The GX2, like other multiGPU cards need the correct driver/profile or performance is crap.

It was benchmarked before the new driver (during launch week) so there was no support for the 9800GX2's internal SLI

but when you say not setup with correct driver (you mean, the latest driver) or 'profile' what do you mean? How do I know the correct 'profile'?

Tom's is retarded, and their benchmarks often make no sense at all. For instance, in that benchmark you linked, the 512MB 9800GT is beating the 9800GTX+ (which, incidentally, has 2 different listings).

Don't use tom's benchmarks
