Can someone explain the end of Evangelion to me?

I just watched episodes 24 and 25 and it makes no freaking sense. Man the ending is hecka twisted and gruesome. Could have lived not seeing that part that EVA02 and Asuka got torn up.

Edit; Meant episodes 25 and 26.

ok, the TV series' ending isn't the official ending. the real ending is the movie, End of Evangelion (go fig).

The ending to End of Eva is also cryptic and stuff, but it's a hell of a lot better than the TV's ending.

you have to be a grad student in theology or something to really understand the series, IMO

At the end (movie) Shigi decided to undo everything, so people regain their own form. And his mom lives as an Eva to eternity. We get the torn world back, the end of story.

Why did that sword thrown at EVA02 turn into the spear? Also, why did the EVA series come back to life?

<< OMG the ending for that anime made me wanna smash all the other tapes and go hang myself >>

Yeah I know, what a f*cked up ending. But man I keep watching it and everytime I watch it, I pick up something new. It's one thing to make something that's disgusting and twisted to watch. It's another to make something that's disgusting and twisted to watch AND that makes them come back to watch over and over again.
