Can someone explain the difference here?

"Marjorie Taylor Greene repeatedly indicated support for executing prominent Democratic politicians in 2018 and 2019, before being elected to Congress, a CNN KFile review of hundreds of posts and comments from Greene's Facebook page shows."

"Palm Coast, Fla. – An 18-year-old high school student in Florida has been arrested after recording a song in which he threatened to kill a school administrator following a suspension, sheriff’s officials said.

Joseph Washington was arrested Tuesday on felony charges of making written threats to kill, the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post."

"Washington told investigators he did not intend to carry out any of the threats, and that it was all just a “fantasy,” the statement said. Washington was then arrested."

By now, we all know what Ms. Greene looks like, so perhaps a picture of Mr. Washington might help.

Clearly it's racism. The young fellow wrote a song about killing someone and Greene pushed a "like" button. The situations are almost identical.

This response from her is a little more then pushing a like button. I see why you would excuse her actions.
In one Facebook post from 2018 dug up by CNN, Greene replied to a user who asked how they can “hang” former President Barack Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), saying the “stage” was being “set” and that it would need to be done “perfectly.”

Riddle me this Green Man:

"Valle faced a maximum of life in prison for the conspiracy charge, and a maximum of five years for accessing the federal National Crime Information Center database without authorization. Valle's wife testified against him during the trial.[6] Throughout the trial, Valle claimed that the chat room communications were mere fantasy, and that he had no intention of acting on them.[6] He was found guilty of all charges in March 2013.[7]

Judge Paul G. Gardephe of Federal District Court overturned Valle's conviction on the conspiracy charge in June 2014, saying the evidence supported his contention that he was engaged in only "fantasy role-play." "

Based on this being a Federal Case that should apply precedent nationwide, Washington never even should have been arrested.

Hehehe, you can lay it out in front of them and it still just goes straight over their heads.

One difference ...

Joseph Washington likely was wronged by the school administer before making the threat.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is a crazy person who is making threats for no reason.

Its also rich considering the lies and stupid shit that poster has put out, and then tried to turn around and claim he never said that or justified it by claiming that he simply didn't know. Him and his little bitch friend are just hypocrites that can't be bothered to know the most basic facts of any situation yet think their opinions (which they regularly admit are straight up stupid and based on them knowing nothing) are always correct.

While there is absolutely no doubt that racial bias exists within the application of criminal justice, making these comparisons doesn't help anyone.

For a threat to be criminal, it has to be credible, real, and imminent. The purpose has to be to place a person in fear of injury or death. Whether you have intention to act upon these threats or whether the threats have the actual consequence of generating fear in the target do not matter for the crime of a criminal threat (e.g. terroristic threat).

In Washington's case, I can't say whether these criteria are actually met or what role bias may play in his investigation and prosecution. I can say that, what is presented about the case does not exclude the possibility of guilt here.

For Marjorie Taylor Greene, it is reprehensible that she is allowed to hold public office and be allowed to caucus with the Republicans and hold committee assignments. And also that saying "It's a crime punishable by death is what treason is. Nancy Pelosi is guilty of treason" does not indicate that Greene is threatening to imminently take personal action to kill or physically injure Pelosi.

That article's theory is pretty terrible, establishing some false equivalence between the extremism of Greene and AOC. Even if AOC is an outright socialist, those are policy positions and she isn't peddling insanity theories publicly. Nor has AOC indicated any support of violence against political opponents, to my knowledge.

Can we focus here? Why is this kid charged this way? Is it Florida? We don't know a lot about his history, so maybe that's part of it?

I think you two should get a room and enjoy some much deserved quality time together.

It didn't go over anyone's heads that Greenman lied again through deliberate understatement (his typical MO). Maybe you missed that, but the rest of us didn't. Greene did a lot more than just like somebody's comments.

Meanwhile, if this isn't racism, then it's tribal partisanship (as in, it's ok for Greene to threaten officials because she's Republican and they're Democrats), or it's authoritarianism (as in, Greene can threaten officials because she's an official herself, but the lower classes better mind their speech or else).
Personally, I think it's a combination of all 3.

Remember.... Greene won by a landslide AND.... there are a lot more like her waiting their turn. Voters actually elect these people and it will only get worse. Much worse. We have the midterms coming in two years and then a presidential election coming in four years and I CAN'T IMAGINE what the house and senate will look like come 2025 or what the presidency will look like. Rumor has it that Michael Flynn will run in 2024 and no doubt Donald Trump will stand right behind his candidacy. So if you think Greene is a problem, just wait until the house and senate are full of Greene's and the president of the United States is Mike Flynn. It could happen.

You weren't lying.

75/25 means one of two things: Either she's a phenomenal career politician with lots of kudos underneath her, or she's great at marketing herself and completely full of shit.
