Can someone explain ringtones to me?

Alright so I was on the train the other day and this guy's cell phone starts ringing. I'm almost positive it was this one. The ringtone was ludacris I think, it had the beat and it had a voice singing to it. Anyways, I've been downloading ringtones off random sites online and they all sound like crap compared to that(my phone supports polyphonic ring tones). Is it my phone that just sucks or is it the sites I download my ringtones off of? If I download them off mmode (which will probably cost me a fortune), will they sound noticeably better? BTW here is my phone Thanks

My phone goes "ring-ding-a-ling" and "beepbeepbeep" and it vibrates. I am ecstatically happy with it.

I'll never understand why the youth of today needs Britney Spears' latest crappalot "song" translated into 8-bit ring tones that sound vaguely like the POS that the original song is.

Instead I have to be happy with Knight Rider (for the rare times when I have my phone set to ring instead of vibrate).
