Hasn't "guessed" mine right yet, my co-worker said it did his correct three in a row.

Tell your co-worker to try your number while you both look at the same screen. I bet he says it came out right.

Me thinks there's a bunch of people here that don't know how to follow directions very well. If the directions are followed properly this will work every time.

Alright this thing is freaking me out man!

Ah, I see. The damned chart of symbols changes each time, I thought it was staying the same! Tricky.

I tried it at first and I was like WTF...but what the site depends is that your mouse cursor will go over the # u end up with and that it will stay there for a little while. If you have your mouse cursor on it for a little while, even a quick sec, that's what it will end up as. If you do the same thing again and LEAVE YOUR MOUSE cursor OUT of the symbols (all of the symbols) you will see it doesn't work.

As someone said, the symbols change. Just open a new browser window with the page- the list of numbers will not correspond to the same symbols as in the other window. All of the possible answers have the same symbol. Once you come up with one of those "correct" answers in your head and click the gray square, and the table comes back, the symbols have been re-arranged. That's why it seems right every time.

82 - 8 -2 = 72

The symbols never match.

82's symbol isn't supposed to match 72's symbol and 82's symbol isn't supposed to match the "magic square".

72's symbol is supposed to match the "magic square".

-MC

Choose 82
flip it = 28

82 - 28 = 54
54 works becasue its a multiple of 9

Where does it say to flip the #?

Irregardless, I was looking at the wrong symbol.

1. Think of a number with 2 digits (ex: 54)
2. Subtract from this number its 2 digits (ex: 54 - 5 - 4 = 45)
3. Find the symbol that corresponds to this number
4. Concentrate on the symbol and click on the magic square...

The magic trick is where you are getting "flip it from"

THIS IS HOW IT WORKS.

The java-script on that site is a front-end for Miss Cleo, located server-side. Miss Cleo performs all the required predicting operations and relays them to the client-side using basic compression, error-checking protocol. The user sees the prediction.

Any number you pick from their little guessing game equation is always going to be a multiple of 9.
Try some examples: 98-9-8=81; 67-6-7=54; 32-3-2=27, etc.
The symbols change everytime you play. Now look at the symbol for 9 and all multiples of 9. They're always the same and that's the symbol that's going to be "under" the "magic square."
There you go.
