Well said. Which is way Humanity should totally abandon all Religions completely enmass.
I'm okay with people being religious, it's just annoying when they try to convince you that it makes any sense whatsoever.
It's like "okay I get your freedom to believe whatever crap you want, just keep it down it hurts my brain to understand how you can follow it".

Just keep it quiet, it's not something to shout about!

Nooooo.

Thats just not how religion works. You don't get to change it because you can prove things in it are incorrect.
The whole point of religion is that you believe in it regardless of the facts. Its pretty much the opposite of the scientific principle.
What I find odd is that some of the greatest scientists profess (or have been said) to be religious, at least so I have heard.

Many believe that science and religion aren't exclusive. I'd argue that they're being very choosy with one or the other if they came to that conclusion, but that's just mho.

They do a good job of keeping science and religion separate for the most part. I've certainly not seen any of them use the "because god", or "the bible said" argument when trying to prove a scientific point.

As a scientist/engineer and Christian**, I'll just have to disagree with that. I don’t imagine we have enough in common to find agreement.

** And adult convert, just for giggles.

I always thought of Gods, Higher Powers, and the like as examples of Scared Crutches that the less developed of us can't quite let go off. And even if such Entities exist, why would They even bother with with naked bipedal Apes who are living on a mere speck of dust among the vast number of Dust Clouds floating around in the Grand Cosmos?

The so called Gods, Higher Powers, and Powers that Be certainly do not listen to our prayers, so thing Man can do is to unfolding his praying hands, get off his fucking knees and do something, anything to better his condition, alone.

Evolution is just one of the most obvious things ever. It's amazing that Darwin's given credit for it. The bible's explanation and I guess any religion's explanation of how things got the way they are all seem stupid and steeped in idiocy and superstition. You can go to Greek mythology for more nonsense, if you take it literally.

A lot of people want to reject science because they find it difficult to understand. So much easier to push it aside and feel some confidence in your fiddly folly.
