Can someone else besides the purchaser receive a rebate check?

I just bought the ValueRAM from Outpost for a friend that doesn't have a CC. The packing slip/invoice has my name and address on it. Can he fill out the rebate form and receive the check?

I'd rather not have to put my money on the line in waiting for the rebate check.
