Frankly, it just seems that your logo could be made from scratch faster than the time it would take to edit out the circle with clone brush and fix the gradients by eye...
 
I'll have a go at it quick....
It's getting redone partly from scratch though. That image is too small, and there are too many compression artifacts for it to be useful.

Change the extension to .png to get that format instead. SVG is better for scaling though.


The images were made in GIMP, and converted to SVG in Inkscape, the latter of which I only just learned to use not too many minutes ago. 🙂
Inkscape was rather interesting - to save space in SVG files, it simply links to an external image file, which was causing some problems. The exported file only showed the gradient background, with no text. It turns out that there's one little "Embed Images" command, buried within another menu, that does just what it says.

If this logo is going to be used for some money-making function, show some dollarly lovin' to the Libre Graphics Meeting people.
