Can somebody recommend a good *small* digital camera?

Need to replace my Kodak DC3400. Something with 2-3 megapixels, good quality and 3x zoom would be perfect, but more importantly - I want something really small, that would fit in a pocket.
 
Fellow DC3400 owner here, great camera, been through a lot with it. I saw where Casio has a new one that is the size of a credit card.
 
I have a Nikon cool pix 3200

very small, very nice pictures.
3.2 megapixels

3.3x zoom

can be had for $170.

battery life leaves something to be desired.
 
Some nice suggestions in this thread. What is the difference between Cannon SD200 and A75? The options look the same, just different layout and A75 is cheaper.

A75 is not pocket sized. The A75 has a hand grip, and I believe offers a full-manual mode (or more manual than the SD / S series) Take a hike to your local Best Buy or Circuit City to take a look at them, get a feel for the cameras you are interested in, and then find it for the right price, somewhere else.
 
The canon "S" series (aka. ELPH) is the ticket. Keep in mind that the compromise you make for small size vs. the A series is fewer features. The A series are the most feature-packed cameras in existence at their price point.

After numerous firsthand experiences, I've learned not to touch Sony products or services with a ten-foot pole, and I'd suggest that you do the same - learn from others' mistakes, not your own.

I have a Canon S110 Elph, that I bought 3 years ago. It takes excellent pictures, still, and handles the abuse of being toted everywhere (and dropped a few times). It outlasted my dad's Sony P-85 (?), which he was ready to toss after less than a year.
 
if price is no object, how bout that new exilim that popular science liked? it uses a ceramic lens, so it can be thinner, with a better zoom, than a comparable glass lens.
