Can shock/struts burst?

ya, I have Eibach Pro Kit. They are supposed to go well with each other. Many guys are running the same set up. Seems strange - unless I am an idiot and did something wrong which may be causing this. Dont know what nor how, though.

Im going to throw the stock struts in and see how it feels.

I've had Koni Yellows on my Mk2 for years - stock springs and Eibach Pro-Kit, and they've been fine. I rarely see a failed one, especially so new...sorry about your luck :(

The gland nut holding the strut insert into the housing was loose. THis allowed it to bounce around inside the housing leading to an eventual failure.
My own fault. Expensive lesson.

I inserted the stock struts and drove around tonight. Felt like I was driving a pail of water. But I made for damn certian those gland nuts were tight and within spec this time.

i forgot to mention these are brand new Koni Yellows. Less than 2k miles.

Did the top nut losen on the strut? wouldnt be the first mr2 THAT ive seen that happen to. take a peak under that dust boot bet youd be in for a surprise

(wow mabye i should have made it to page two before posting...lol glad i was correct though)
