Can SetiQueue resupply the same WU to a crashed machine?

My new dual AMD's XP install crapped out (I think I o/c the FSB a bit too much and XP didn't like it). I'd like to recover the WUs on it (two were 1/2 way through) but if I have to format the drive, can SetiQueue just resupply the same WUs to the client?

I suppose I could just back them off with floppy...hmmm

You can recycle the WU in SETI queue.

If you want to resume your WU progress, just copy everything from that SETI@home folder to somewhere else (floppy, ZIP or CDRW). Then copy them back to your HDD when you are done reinstalling.

Trying to copy...get the floppy to another PC and it says a file is corrupt.

I !#@$%^!@#$^ HATE floppies!!!!

Wish I still had a copy of LapLink and a parallel port cable for it.

:frown:

Oh wait...using another machine to format with and it seems to be copying back over now.

I think I have a bad floppy in what used to be my workhorse (in the sig below).

I was really wanting to work on some plumbing tonight...not my darn brand-new PC that was running fine but nnnnNNNOOOOOoooo...I just HAD to go and tinker with o/c :D

How high did you set your overclocking?

Can't you remove that harddrive and connect it to the other computer so you can copy your SETI subdirectory?

I had the FSB up to 145 and on that subsequent boot, all went to heck.

I did manage to copy off the WUs in progress and am now copying the XP CD contents to the harddrive (just did a SYS C: from a bootable floppy) in the hopes of installing off the drive (it's quicker)

What's the highest stable FSB on your system now?

Thanks for the info.:)

It was 144 until I tried the 145. C: drive won't even boot at this point (Well, it might boot after the SYS C:...still copying the files from the CD...should have just rebooted to see if it would work).

Ok, reformatting C: right now. I think something just went nuts for a split second and wiped out the boot record or something on C:. FDISK /MBR didn't help neither did SYS C:. We'll see what happens now.

NOW, installing XP with FSB at 145 and memory at 2.5-3-3 and in Normal, not Turbo (does that make a diff?)
And, ya know what? This time I'm not using the Promise Ultra133TX2 drivers that came with the card (on a separate floppy). Using the ones built into XP. Hmmmm....we shall see.

ARGH! Same darn product catalog fatal error. Even with an XP Home CD I found instead of the 120-Eval Professional CD. Trying the Home version again with the Promise driver from the Promise website this time.

GETTING better. Changed the PO_VID (?) jumpers back to all 3-4 for 1.85v and upped the DDR RAM voltage to 2.7. Also using the updated Promise driver and have RAM settings in BIOS at 2-3-3 (instead of 2.5-3-3) and installation of XP has passed the point of fatal errors before... Oh, left out the Netgear FA311 card, too. Might try an FA310 or a DLink I saw lying around. (Maybe I shouldn't have...took *5 min.* to get past the "installing network" portion...sheesh!)

1:15 later, still on the initial setup screen at the "Saving Settings" portion (progress bar is moving...about a mm/year!)...looks like I'm not going to be able to verify the setup until the morning. :(

This is ridiculous!! I wonder if it's because I took out the NIC???
