Since the rev2 256 stick is just rev3 with more ram, can the 256 stick of ram reach 150 mhz 2-2-2 easy too?

I have the Rev2 on my A7V (only one stick). When I tried to set my FSB to 133, my 800B T'Bird wouldn't post. I've heard stories that the rev2 actually outperforms the HSDRAM in most benchmarks. However, now that I've "field tested," so to speak, I don't see where. Perhaps at 133 the rev2 outperforms, but it seems highly unlikely past that speed. But, to answer your question, the stick I received did NOT go past 117! Not to say that others wouldn't... If you're looking for 133+ go for the HSDRAM.....

RabeaticSquirrel- It seems to me like you were more processor held back than ram since the rev is pc133 ram which means it is guaranteed to run at 133mhz.

syboy.. stop bashing tbird users =)... how is he processor limited? he isnt OC'ing his tbird at all... also, in your sig... dont quote a 1.1ghz p3 when its not really running at that speed... =)... i bet you're not even over 1ghz...

Maybe not processor limited. More like motherboard limited I suppose. Since most of the boards were not made for 133mhz bus ddr.

LOL he tried to set a A7V to 133 FSB.... most people are lucky to get 110. I max at 115 myself.

my god, this thread is so damn confusing with the many incorrect inferences and remarks I didn't even want to bother posting, but I guess I will be nice and offer my assistance. To answer your original question, "Can rev2 mushkin 256 mb ram get high also?," the answer is yes, but not necessarily as high as the 128MB sticks, and in fact generally have slightly lower yields. I wouldn't get my hopes up about 150MHz @ 2-2-2, but since the 128MB rev 2's can easily get those results, you should see somewhere near that number, maybe a max yield around 142-148, but as always, your mileage may vary with different sticks.

Thanks, would the reason for lower yields be for the ram chips overheating and since there are 2x as many ram chips, there is 2x the amount of heat? What if my case had a great air circulations? Could that help?
