I just got a Dell Latitude D600 with a TrueMobile 1450 minipci card, from work but am having an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated...
So at work I can connect to the wireless adhoc network just fine. No special settings, just power on and it's a go.
At home, with my netgear router things get tricky.
I have several boxes connected via wireless with no issues at all.
I have left my router wide open, with no mac address limiting, no wep, just straight connection. All settings on my end are correct, as they are the same accross my network. Or so I would assume they would be...
I can pull my SSID, but cannot for the life of me get an ip, or connect to my network. If I wire it up straight with a cable, I get instant access just fine. I cannot even release or renew my ip, because apparently my "media is disconnected". I remind you that this is an internal wireless card. Just the lame message stating that things are not connected properly.
At work, I'm on a domain, no workgroup. From home I've tried wiping out the domain, joining my home workgroup, logging on with several different circumstances. Even though technicaly I shouldn't have to change any of that. Still no go. Im out of ideas. I've heard maybe changing channels will help things on these laptops? Haven't tried that yet though... seeing as how I can get my ssid.
Is there something that I am missing?
