I just got a Dell Latitude D600 with a TrueMobile 1450 minipci card, from work but am having an issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

So at work I can connect to the wireless adhoc network just fine. No special settings, just power on and it's a go.
At home, with my netgear router things get tricky.

I have several boxes connected via wireless with no issues at all.

I have left my router wide open, with no mac address limiting, no wep, just straight connection. All settings on my end are correct, as they are the same accross my network. Or so I would assume they would be...

I can pull my SSID, but cannot for the life of me get an ip, or connect to my network. If I wire it up straight with a cable, I get instant access just fine. I cannot even release or renew my ip, because apparently my "media is disconnected". I remind you that this is an internal wireless card. Just the lame message stating that things are not connected properly.

At work, I'm on a domain, no workgroup. From home I've tried wiping out the domain, joining my home workgroup, logging on with several different circumstances. Even though technicaly I shouldn't have to change any of that. Still no go. Im out of ideas. I've heard maybe changing channels will help things on these laptops? Haven't tried that yet though... seeing as how I can get my ssid.

Is there something that I am missing?

Your at home network router and comps are in the "Infrastructure mode" Are you changing to this on the work laptop when get home with it ? You may also have to do a release/renew to pull an new IP from the home router DHCP server after changing modes.

WOW ! :Q Your neighbors are going to love the free access and file sharing with you. Recommend you change that situation, ASAP!

I have my laptop setup to connect to any available network. Hard setting to infastructure, etc. has no effect.

Also, I cannot release/renew my ip, because my wireless card will not hit the DHCP server. It sees my ssid like I said, but I cannot get an ip or anything else.

Using my old wifi card, I connect just fine. Plugged it in, and I was on in a matter of minutes.

Hey guys I had the same problem... I have a Dell 8600 Centrino with the Intel 2200pro b/g card... I called Dell tech support and they gave me the run around that it is my routers fault... I am also able to connect with out any manual config at work and other access points... But at home no such luck... I have manually configured my computer and it works like a dream...
