My new system sometimes won't boot up completely. After I power up you can hear the hard drive chattering away and the various fans, etc are running fine but then it stalls before video comes up. I've tried different video cards and other various "fixes" but nothing works. I'm ready to ship the mobo back but I haven't considered power. Is it possible?

It's possible. What PSU are you using now? How many internal hard/CD/DVD/CDRW/Zip/etc. drives do you have? Any other PCI cards?

Codegen 300w
Plextor 24/10/40
CDrom
Soundblaster live 5.1
pci modem

It seems to be totally random when it won't come up.
I've tried removing components, I've checked to see if the temperature is too high on the cpu. I'm not oc/ing nor am I doing anything out of the ordinary.

I've built a couple machines using the AK31A and the 300W Codegen power supply.

One is a 1.4GHz tbird with 256MB, 60GB HD, DVD, CDRW, Modem, NIC, Radeon VIVO

The other is a 1.0GHz tbird with 256MB, 40GB HD, DVD, CDRW, Modem, NIC, Radeon VE

Both work fine, no problems at all.

I have built several others using the Codegen 350W, Enlight 300W, and Enermax 431W, all work perfectly.

What OS are you using, was it a fresh installation? Did you try clearing the BIOS and resetting it the way you want it? If you are using Win9x, did you disable ACPI in the BIOS?
