Can Partition Magic truly resize partitions losslessly?

I guess I grew out my 3.5Gb system partition, my temp files have a total of 200MB to use up, so time to enlarge my sys partition. The question is: can Partition Magic (8) really resize partitions without data loss? I'm going to add several GBs from my FAT32 part to the SYS FAT32 part on the same drive. Should I do something before attempting? Does anyone have any experience?

Yes, it can, most of the time. If it screws up (which is unlikely, but possible) make sure you have a backup.

Most of the time it works just fine. It's that occaisional time that it screws up that can really hose your data. Always make sure you have your data backed up before you use it.

I have used it about 7 times. 1 time it hoses my entire drive. It said it finished but there was no boot sector. Threw the drive in my other computer and it was all gibberish. All the folders were there but everything inside each folder was junk.

Use it but make sure to have a backup of important data.

I've just resized a drive with my system partition and it works fine. Adding 5GB from one part to another took 1 hour.
