Can overclocking and then dropping back to stock fsb/mult make your system stable?

I.e. overclock to find the best vcore and vmem voltages...
with the highest fsb/mult combo available on your system...

and then when you can get that stable...
drop the fsb/mult back to stock settings?

You just said if once you overclock with best (i am assuming not too high vcore) and vmem voltages as well with highest FSB/Mult combo (meaning you'll have the highest possible FSB and a low multiplier to match it) ... and then you say when you get that stable ==> well thats every overclockers dream!!!

Drop the FSB/mult back to stock setting??

Why would you do that if you have it overclocked and its stable!!!???

I think you meant to ask if when you overclock and its not stable, will dropping back to stock setting (default) will make things stable again. The answer to that question is yes, if you do not stress the voltages too much to damage components and the heat doesn't set your cpu on fire :D
