This is my Linksys KVM and I think it's great. The picture quality is virtually identical to my Radeon 8500 being plugged directly into my monitor. Plus the double tap of the Control button to switch between PC's is great! I would highly recomend a Linksys KVM!

I'm still confused as to what the point is of having multiple comps right next to each other. So you're saying you use one only for gaming and the other for messanging, e-mail, internet, etc so you can easily switch between the two? Is there any point to have two if you don't game? (I used to play PC games, but don't have the time anymore).

You can use one to beta test stuff you don't want to f-k up your important PC. = Test Rig.

 
I use Blackbox 4 port KVM's at work. Those things are built like a tank, and work great.

I don't LOVE them, though. It's more of a mutual respect thing 🙂

Right now I'm down to two PCs. One is my FTP/fileserver, the other is my main rig that email, surf and game on. I keep everything, including OS files on the server. When I do a wipe and reload, I don't need any CDRs at all. 🙂
 
I just have PC's scattered all through the house and networked together. No KVM for me. I do have a Belkin 4 port in my server room at work. 2 workstations, 2 servers, 1 Intellimouse, 1 wall mounted 17" NEC LCD and 1 MS keyboard.

I have the same one and it really rocks. At least it performs exactly how I would expect it to. Got it for 30 bucks or so compliments of the ATHD board.

That was the reason I did it. I'm sure a lot of other people could have a host reasons to do it.

Next time you boot up before you open anything hit ctrl/alt/del and see all the garbage you have running in the background. With my one computer just for games I have no reason to have a virus scan, firewall, or any of the other resource hogs that take away from frames-per-second or cause the games to crash.

Yeah i setup that one for my dad, i just love the switch mechanism just tap 2x on the ctrl button 🙂

I guess. But with Trillian, Weatherbug and Opera open, I am only using 2% of my resources. Open up Word, Smart FTP and Winamp (playing) and I won't go past 8% on peaks. Though I think you do have a very cool set up 🙂
