can of air

anyone know where i can buy a can of air for cheap?

I just can't see spending 7+ bucks for a can of air that lasts a week.

I got one for $5 at Walmart; if you're lucky, you might be able to get one of them that OfficeMax or Staples usually has for free after mail-in rebate.

If you have or know someone who has a BJ's card, then go their because I can usually get a three pack for less than $10 and they usually have some bonus item. I have gotten free wipes with the last two packs I got. Sams might carry it also.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy those Re-Air brand ones. They are green and come with a pump to pump up the can. They use regular air and after you fill it up, it lasts about 15 seconds of solid air, then its out. Refilling wouldn't be that bad, but the pump is the loudest and most obnoxious thing in the enitre world. Seriously. The air pressure sucks too. We spent like $60 on it and now, it is sitting in an empty cubicle somewhere.....

They suck.

You mean they Blow right?😀

Depending on where you live:

3 - 12 oz. cans: Micro-Center for $9.99.
4 - 12 oz. cans: Costoc for $11.49.

These are the same brands that sell for $6.99 a can at Best Buy. Buy a mutli-pack and save lots of money.

Possibly untrue fact I've heard:
The cost is due to really nasty shipping regulations surrounding them.

No, swallows.

At $10 a can, a small air compressor can go a long way. I have a 3.5 HP 20 gallon unit, and it blows great ! Much better than those cans of air.

Canned air can shoot water vapor. Best is a compressor with a water separtor(s) or fill your own scuba tank and have a separator filter on the end.

Are you sure about that? It'll shoot out liquid if it's held upside down, but it's not water, though water may condense and freeze readily on any surfaces that the liquid from the can does contact.

Micro Center currently has a deal for 3 Falcon Dust-Off XL 12 oz. cans for $9.99. Picked up 3 on Friday.

they only shoot water (or ICE .. .lol) when you hold the can upside down, before using you should spray away from computer to assure this wont happen 😀

it's not water. I think it's whatever propellant they use.

Heh you guys make it sound like its William Wallace's bad bout with beans.......shooting lightning bolts from his eyes and fireballs from his arse

I'm reading the can right now and its difluoroethane aka Freon or Halocarbon. Used in aerosol propellants and was used for refrigeration and cooling.

I'm not a chemist, but I googled it and came up with a bunch of EPA links so I'm guessing its correct 😉

Don't spray the stuff right on you; this sort of thing is capable of freezing a large insect solid. 😉

Instead of burning ants with magnifiyer, you should freeze them ??? LOL

lol I was messin around with a mostly empty can and dumped the stuff on a plastic baggy. I also kept spraying my friends leg, needless to say he got pretty pissed.

Just rent a large nitrogen tank and regulate it to 100 psig or so. It will last a long time and is very safe to use in poorly ventilated areas. Of course if you're blowing a very dusty chassis out you should do it in an appropriate area and wear a dust respirator!

Cheers!
