Hi
i have a celeron 433 mhz pc which i am trying to upgrade to celeron 900 mhz.it has 370 socket and maximum bus speed of 100mhz which suits the new processer. replacing the processer is not the problem but when i turn the computer on the monitor(CompaqS710) does not show anything the green light of monitor turns on and off repeatedly. if i disconnect the data cable it shows message "no signal"just like normal monitor will do but as soon as i connect the data cable it does the same on off thing.further if i switch back to my old cpu i.e celeron433 mhz ,it works fine..

any help would be much appreciated.

Either the CPU is bad or the motherboard can't handle it, I guess. Try making sure your BIOS is the latest available.

You're not getting a picture because the entire computer isn't firing up, or, given your on-off description, is crashing and rebooting all the time. Check whether power and cooling are adequate and properly plugged/mounted.
