I have an Acer Prisa 320U USB scanner that I bought for $30 after rebate from OfficeMax. I've already had to send the mofo back once for warranty repairs which costs me $15 shipping. It's acting up again and it's gonna cost me another $15 or higher to send it back again. I fed up and I want to get a better one that actually friggen works!

So are there any hot deals on scanners, any rebates, coupons, etc?

The Epson Perfection 1200U comes to mind, although one of those Canon CanoScan USB models are not bad too, as you don't need any external power supply with those models.

- NFS4 stop sitting on the scanner glass with your bare tush we've had quite enough of your pornographic email attachments. your scanner is not designed for such abuse and neither are our monitors :p

Have you looked at either an HP 2200 or 4300? I've used the 4300's quite a bit and find that they are quite good. I Haven't had any hands on experience with the 2200 yet.

Edit -- Publik skool just kant teech speling anymore.

The Agfa e20 is a special low cost scanner that was designed for w2k.
It offers good quality for the money. It is around 100Bucks in stores where I live, probably around 70 bucks online...

Really, don't get an HP....bastards took over 6 months to get drivers out for the C4200 and C5200.

At first they were like, "Nope we are not going to support win2k, because it is a business OS"....then people got pretty pissed for dishing out over $150 for this scanner and then getting crapped on.

This incident really showed how much HP cares about thier customers :|

I swear by Epsons... try going to various B&M's and see if you can buy their display model. I bought my Epson 610U from CompUSA for $30! Works like a charm...
