Can mycloud be mapped as a regular networked storage drive?

The my cloud is a recently released product from WD.

I was reading reviews and it seems like you have to use WD's companion app to manage files.

Does anyone here have/ or has used one know if it could be used a regular NAS and accessed normally through windows explorer without the companion app?

I also emailed WD, so I will let you guys know if they respond first.
