Hey all,

I have an Iwill KK266 as a Motherboard currently. It has 1 ghz AMD cpu in it now.

I was wondering how fast of an AMD cpu I can put in the Iwill KK266? I am thinking about upgrading the cpu in the near future.

Here is the link to my MB specs: Link To The Iwill KK266

It has the 266 Front Side Bus. I have an Enermax 350 Watt Power Supply.

Any help in this question would be great!

Thanks...
Justin

I would think so... if not it's probably just a matter of flashing your BIOS. I had an A7V133 that originally didn't support the XP line... but ASUS had an updated bios on their site. Just check Iwill's site to see what the latest BIOS is and what changes have been made.

I sure do hope so also:)

Can anyone else give some input or information pretaining to the Iwill KK266 and future cpu upgrades?

Thanks

sandorski: Right on! Thanks for updating me on that.
I updated my BIOS a month ago, but they must have just recently added the XP support.

So that should do it? Anyone heard of any power problems or other anamolies? I love the feeling of just popping in a new cpu and gaining
500-600 mhz overnight:)

Thanks everyone.

Yup, that should do it, but if you can hold off a bit, I'm sure someone else will try it. I'm pretty sure you won't have problems though.

I don't think you'll have any problems PS wise. I'm running an Athlon XP 1700 with a 300watt Antec PS(see WOWZA for additional sys info) without any problems.

In order to take advantage of the SSE instructions on the XP processors, you must do a clean install of windows.
