Can my computer turn itself on at the same time everyday?

I like to listen to music when I wake up, but I'm at college here in the boondocks...is there any program that will turn on my computer at a set time every day? would this be a hardware feature? i'm running a gigabyte ga-7dxr...check the rest of the specs in my signature. If I leave my computer on all the time, is there at least software that will play music at a specified time? Thanks for any input...

check your bios..

many boards have a feature to turn on at a specified time...

then you can add winamp, etc to your startup, or schedule a task in win2k/xp to play the music

you could also have the system go to sleep at night instead of turning it off and then be scheduled to wake up at a certain time.

There's the option under 'power management' in your BIOS to wake at a specified time each day.
There are also a few 'alarm clock' plugins for winamp, which you can just set to play a certian playlist at whatever time.

Never thought of a plug-in...I can't seem to find any though. Do you have any suggestions?

This is the computer alarm clock I currently use - best one I've seen yet. You can have it perform pretty much any action - I just have it launch an m3u file, which I have associated with Winamp. One of my favorite features is the ability it has to start the volume out really low and raise it over time (you specify how much) - nice easy way to wake up.

You know those things people use to turn on their porch lights when they are on vacation... probably one at home depot for 2.99.

Enable boot after power failure option. Flip the switch, voila, monitor, tower, hdd, speakers, even printer, all at once.
