Can you name 3 members who have had their "Elite" status taken away?

Is there actually 3 answers?

I don't know of any. Of course the mod "can" take away your "elite" status, but what does that mean? They can also replace all your posts with links to amateur clown pr0n, but just because they 'can' do that, doesn't mean it's a common practice.

There was a bit of communication for me, but they certainly don't need consent from what I have seen.

All you have to do is whine about breaking up with your s/o because you're not in her "Top 8" on myspace... poof! Instant title.

More wrong than correct. Elites were never nominated by members until recently. Members are chosen by us to wear the Elite title whether or not they were nominated by anyone else based on criteria freely available for your reading in a forum FAQ. Members in the habit of posting half-baked misinformation have a less than zero chance of ever becoming Elite.

so.. in other words....don't nominate anyone because it carries no influence.

I think I've been around long enough to warrant a custom title. I want mine to be based off my long term signature:

taken from th faq:
6. Information about the number of posts associated with member status can be found in the "Help" section. In addition to the status that occurs automatically based on post count, you will find another called "Elite". In this case, it is not based on number of posts but rather is granted by the forum Administrators based on input from the forum Moderators.

Elite members are those who have been supportive of the forums, and positively contributed in a variety of ways, whether it is being helpul answering hardware questions, tracking down trolls in For Sale/Trade or just simply bringing a few smiles to other members in Off Topic.
