Can Minesweeper be impossible some times

No, not impossible. But there are times where you have to make a 50/50 guess and there is no evidence pointing either way. If you have to make ten 50/50 guesses in a difficult Minesweeper game, then you have a 0.1% chance of winning even if you do everything perfectly.

pretty much, you might as well do the 50/50's as soon as you get them, they're almost always within 2-3 blocks of a wall

How about solitare? Can solitare be impossible to win at times? It sure seems like it sometimes...

Yes it can be impossible, if you are talking about the most common variations of Klondike.

I swear I used to be able to hit a mine on the first try. But the newer Minesweeper versions seem to prevent this.

Wait, it's possible to win?:confsued;

Only if you start wrong, you can get into an imposible scenario, but if you reset the board the same exact way it was, you would eventually be able to solve it.

yess I have had to guess a few times. I have had several situations where the was no logical choice.

every game includes one guese, but after that, there is an actual pattern to it, something with the numbers. a friends ex-girlfriend could play that game and never lose. i just got confused 😕

Not true, i have run into games where there were no legal moves at all, even after going through the entire deck (three cards at a time)

doesnt happen very often , but quite posible

Yea, I think they changed it in later versions of windows.

I think he meant that each game is possible to win, just that some decks only have 1 way of winning it and if you don't follow that exact method, you will awlays end up in a deadend situation. But if you reset and keep trying, u might eventually get the right method to win.

I've played Minesweeper a lot (record of 17 seconds on Intermediate). I usually play Intermediate since you usually can complete them without guessing (although sometimes you get into those 4/2 traps). You almost always have to guess at some point in Expert, so it's not really a test of skill.

Never have I had to make more than two 50/50 guesses, even on Expert.
