Can manufacturers tell if you overclocked your GPU/CPU?

Can manufacturers tell if you overclocked your GPU/CPU? I don't want to lose the warranty on my graphics card or CPU, just in case there is something else wrong with them. I know they will be able to tell if I burn the chip, but will they be able to tell modest overclocks (like the VGA BIOS records if the GPU clcok was higher than stock)?

Thanks

You already have no warranty in your 9800pro, VGA silencer avoids it.

Yes, but I still have the undamaged stock cooler and if they don't do a chemical analysis of the thermal compound they will never be able to tell that I had a VGA silencer on my card.
That's why I am asking, I don't want them to know that I did anything to void my warranty. I don't want to try to get my graphics card replaced if I overheat my graphics card, I just want to be able to get it replaced if something else is wrong with it.

i dunno if they can tell or not..

but i had a 9700 pro die on me and i had it cooled with a mcw50t and they let me RMA it.

it was modestly overclocked... woke up one morning and my screen was all blocky...

funny thing is, the new card i got still does the same thing... weird...

Don't send the card back if you broke it. It hurts us all in the end.

I really don't see how they could tell, unless of course your CPU was dead because of too much voltage/heat. Or if you physically modded it, of course.

if you OC a component and it breaks, its your fault...if it is running within specified perameters and it breaks, then RMA it...its that simple

I won't try tor RMA an overheated CPU, but if the Video- Out chip on my graphics card breaks for some reason that's got nothing to do with me overclocking the GPU and I don't see why I shouldn't RMA it. I won't try to RMA an overheated GPU and I am sure that short of the heatsink just falling off or fan failing completely, it will never overheat; I know enough of overclocking to watch my temps.
