Can Lite-On CD-RW 48x be flashed with 52x firmware?

You can always try flashing, but there's never a guarantee it will work, and I'm fairly certain the warranty doesn't cover flashing the wrong bios.

It's a try at your own risk kinda thing.

I wouldn't mess with it. There isn't even any 52x rated media out there, AFAIK. I'm sure you could "overspeed" a good CD and get a successful burn, but why risk the drive?

I flashed my Lite-On 40x to 48x.

Been working fine for over a year.
