Hi

I would like to know whther my rig can run the following:
3ds max 8
maya 7
poser 6
flash 8
photoshop cs 2
flame
shake
combustion
and the lot

Amd 64bit 3200
1gb dual ch @ stock
128mb geforce 6600gt pci-e
160gb sata NCQ

I would say yes, your rig can handle it.

3dsmax 8 requires this :

Hardware
? Intel® Pentium® III or AMD® processor, 500 MHz or higher
(dual Intel)
? XeonTM or dual AMD Athlon® or Opteron® 32-bit system
recommended)
? 512 MB RAM (1 GB recommended)
? 500 MB swap space (2 GB recommended)
? Graphics card supporting 1024x768x16-bit color with
64 MB RAM
? OpenGL® and Direct3D® hardware acceleration supported;
3D graphics accelerator 1280x1024x32-bit color with 256 MB
RAM recommended
? Microsoft® Windows®?compliant pointing device (optimized
for Microsoft IntelliMouse®)
? WacomTM Intuos® or similar pressure-sensitive tablet
recommended for vertex paint

I don't have xeon,i don't have 4gb/2gb ram,i don't have 256mb card,
mine is a geforce and maya says to go for quadro for more performance, stability, refresh, display

also,i want to go into movie making, graphics designing, hardcore animation/graphics and also game development.

can i tackle flame,combustion,shake etc

what abt smoke,falme ,combustion etc

also,i want to go pro, make prof animaiton and games equivalent graphics if ut03,04 or hgiher

Yes you can run in fact my new rig runs just fine with

Adobe
Photoshop CS2
After Effect 6.5
Illustrator CS2
Premeire Pro
InDesgin CS2

Maya 6.0
3ds MAX 7
Poser 5
Corel Painter IX
Bryce 5
Cinema 4D

I am sure it will work with Shake, Flame, Smoke, and Combustion. I wish I had Matador 64
🙁

Maya does "prefer" Quadro, but works fine on any recent Nvidia video card and works pretty good on any recent ATI card(has a few more glitches, but nothing serious---I use a 9800Pro with Maya)

Max does not require a DX9 video card.

Lots of Tutorials for Max/Maya. Goto www.3dbuzz.com for one good Tut website

Not sure what Flame(for Mac?) is, but if it doesn't work on x86 you'll have no choice but to use something else.

Don't ask questions about Piracy. BTW, it's No, the Learning versions of 3dsMax and Maya can not be made into Full Versions.
