plug a switch into my router to add ports. My router has 4 ports now that I am using, plus wifi using all 4 ports right now and I do have a switch that I used to use with my Verizon router/modem. Is it just a matter of plugging it in?
 
It is fine as long as one of the devices supports auto MDX, or the new switch has an uplink port otherwise you would need to get a crossover cable to make it work.
