Can i use XP on an brand new Toshiba?

Im looking at a new Toshiba a135-s4447 which comes with Vista.
I have some older hardware with no Vista drivers, so I'd need to use XP on the laptop.

Problem is that *XP* drivers for the modem/lan/sounds may not exist, right?
Is there any way to know if there are XP versions of these drivers?

Maybe Toshiba has an older model thats that same hardware but with XP instead of Vista so I could use those drivers?

Ugh!!!

You should contact toshiba and ask them if the hardware has old xp drivers, im sure there are xp drivers because what if you go to the store and buy a new sound card and put it on your system with xp, well there has to be a driver for it... you know what i mean?

All hardware have XP drivers. You would be hard pressed to find anything that didn't work under Win 2K as well.

Select "select another model" then portables -> sattelite -> A135-S4447 then Windows XP SP2

From what I saw (and I think OP already saw), the list of updates/drivers for his model only has Vista files. Were he to run the system info tool, he could undoubtedly find appropriate drivers for both the motherboard and the individual components, even if they didn't come directly from Toshiba.

Thats exactly what happned.

I looke dat Toshiba's site and they only a had couple of XP drivers listed for it. Just the modem I think.

All the rest were Vista, so I'd have no idea what drivers to use under XP.. Sounds like a mess.

If I could find a similar laptop with XP installed and upgrade to Vista later, I'd be safer I think, but very hard to get XP laptops already!
