Here is a step by step.

1: Install Oblivion and latest official patch. (of course)

2: Install LOD mods
Using all three LOD mods greatly improve the resolution of near and distant landscapes. They increase the loading time slightly and it is suggested only to use these if you have at least 256 MB of video card memory and at least 1 GB of system memory.

2a: Install the mod - landscape LOD textures by shaja link

2b: Install the mod - Landscape LOD textures (border regions) by shaja LINK

2c: Install the mod - LOD Normal map fix by Blue steel LINK

3: Install Qarl's Texture pack 3 LINK

4: install Natural Enviroments v2.1.3 by Max Tael LINK

Now for the rest of the mods to install, others can make suggestions.
Popular ones are BTmod and Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (be sure to read these, i dont have it installed, so you may need to install step by step from the original all the way to v1.33) and update 1.33.

I personally would love to know the best mod for better looking models and faces, and the best map mod so you dont have such a limited view of the map and dont have to scroll so much to find what you're looking for. ;)

#2 is a link to a colored map mod that I used, as for the larger viewing area without as much scrolling you'll have to use some form of the BT-mod menu UI alterations. Darn or DarkUI or another version that changes the map borders to something other than the default size that's useful only on consoles.

Thnx Urtho for the links.
Im definitely gonna try those Tamriel Npcs Revamped.
Im already using natural faces and beautiful bodies, but i already finished the game and just want something "different" to play through again with.

I ended up installing Oblivion and Shivering Isles again over the weekend and checking out all the mods.

So far , my favorite BY FAR is the Akatosh Mount which gives you a drake that you can ride and fly around with.
Its so good, i figured it deserves a mention in this thread.
heres a LINK.

Others i think worth mentioning are Natural Enviroments (which everyone already knows) and i like Illumination Within.
Ive also played with Exnems Female EyeCandy and Rens Beauty pack and those are good as well.

All the mods make me wish i would have never played the game and was playing it for the first time with all the mods.
