Can I use PC100 SDRAM on MoBo that calls for RAM?

Hey everybody,

I am putting together a small system for my little sister. I have a Tekram P5M4-M+ (linkified)Mobo lying around and some PC100 SDRAM so I thought I'd use it. But it then occured to me that the RAM may not be compatible. Will older MoBo's take on PC100? I know it won't be as fast as the PC100 but that's not a problem.

The issue here is not "RAM" vs. "SDRAM" or vs. "PC100" but whether the memory is packaged as SIMM's or DIMM's. Looking at the spec sheet you linked, what you NEED is PC100 SDRAM: the mobo requires DIMM's and has a 100 Mhz FSB, so you need PC100 for that.
