Can I use my laptop mousepad as a mini-graphics tablet?

Is there a stylus-like device I can use for my laptop mousepad on my Dell? I was going to purchase a graphics tablet for fun, but if this can work, then I can save 90 bucks! OMG BBQ!

Touchpads are heat sensitive (try it out by using a piece of plastic on it), so you can only use your fingers on them.
