can i use laptop HHD to my desktop

my sister had a broken laptop and i have a spare desktop parts can i use its HHD.

im planing to build a desktop PC (not a gaming for browsing and streaming etc).

my question is can i use the laptops HHD for my desktop?

i have a i3 540, 4gb ram, itelmobo, if it will work then i only need a psu to have an instant pc.

The straight answer is 'yes, you can,' but given the specs in the link, it's going to very slow (5400RPM) and very limited capacity.
