This might be a stupid question, but would there be any negative effects from spraying canned air on cpu fan, motherboard, video card, etc.??? I have a problem with dust and I'm sure my can of air will get rid of it, but is it safe to spray most parts??

as long as you don't tip it upside down and let the liquid spray on the hardware(if you don't know what i'm talking about, tunr the can upside down, and spray your arm, it's funny)

If dust is bad for your computer, then isn't harmful to be blowing dust around inside? It seems like you might blow dust deeper into a component and make things worse. Would a vaccum cleaner be better? Just using logic here.

I removed all the dust I could with a vacuum cleaner. The rest won't come off without some pressure, and I can't run the vacuum brush over any of the parts in there, so canned air seems like the best way to go. I dont think dust would be blown deep into components, it would just get blown loose and I would vacuum it out once that happened.

Leave a vacuum thing near the top of the case and unleash with the canned air, all the dust that's blown around in your case will go into the vacuum

Buy a Lian-Li case, and you'll never have dust in your computer again (Air is filtered before passing through intake fans).

After you clean it then on your intake fan or fans put a piece of hose (as in womens stockings) on the casing in front of the fan inside the front of the case and just change it out once in while. You can use masking tape to adhere it. That way you won't have to do it that often.I'm sure there are other kinds of material that will do. Make sure you turn off your 'puter before spraying with canned air. Never hurts to be careful.

take a shop vac if you have one with an exhast out, and put the hose on that, and blow out your case (taking covers off)

just make sure no rocks or anything will come flying out and damaging parts...

That's what I do with both of my computers, works great...

Hmmm, would that not be "feminizing" the machine? Besides I don't want to be that attracted to my PC.

Good idea though, for those without filters.

Lol, yeah I guess you could look at it that way. Not that I would know but it's like guys who wear womens underware, who would really know? ;)
It does work very well though. I only have to clean mine once a year at most.
