Can i use an old Wacom Intuos with ADB serial port with Windows based PC using a ADB to USB converter?

hi all,

I need some tech support. I have an old Wacom Intuos 1 6x8 inch.
It has an ADB serial port. I have a new PC and it doesnt support ADB as its a MAC thing.
Now, i dont want to buy a new wacom as the one i have is in perfect working condition. So is it possible to use an ADB to USB converter and continue using this tablet?
Has anyone else done this before? pls let me know. throw some light. If yes, then what make of ADB to USB converter and how much will it cost?

c'mon guys...some techie must be out there who can solve this small problem of mine....
pls help.
are there any ADB to USB converters avaialble? If yes, then eud they recognise a WACOM tablet from a mouse???

I really can't say for sure - but my last experience with such converters is that they only work with printers on PCs. The devices that might work are all Apple.

Why not just put in a PCI serial port card?ADB Serial Port.

Anyway - it's a bump.

USB serial ports work just like normal ones, at least the good ones, I have an Io gear one I got from micro center for about $20 a few years back and it works just fine w/ my smart card reader and with my old palm dock (while i still had it) never tried it w/ a printer though.

I think there is no harm in trying....
its cheaper than buying a 200 $ of new 6x8 Intuos 3!
the converter might come for 20 or 30 bucks...
wht do u say?

Good call! Give it a shot and let us know. I have used Wacom's for many years. They were all initially standard serial port connections. Now they are all USB. Am presently using the Graphire combo w/wireless mouse on the digitizing pad.
