I won an auction on ebay tonight for an Intel Xeon 3060 for $199. I would like to know if I can use it on my DS3 or am I going to have to buy a new motherboard?

I know this thread's a few weeks old, but I can tell you that a 3060 won't work on a DQ6 right out of the box. Gigabyte's telling me it's not compatible ... don't know if I bios fix will fix it.

Update: got 2 DOA motherboards in a row. So I can't answer whether it will work or not.

It will work fine on an Asus P5B Deluxe though.
