Can I use a PC to copy a Mac software CD to run on a Mac?

I want to copy a Mac software CD using a PC computer so that it can be used on a Mac- is this possible? In case you're wondering, my friend has the Mac and wants a back up, but doesn't have a CD burner, which is where I come in. I tried it with Clone CD, and it didn't work- the Mac couldn't read the burned CD.

if youre copying an existing CD you might be able to create a disc image and then burn that. otherwise i dont believe you will be able to because Wintel machines screw up the Mac formatting. if its just a data CD you can burn it however you want. Macs can read the format.

I tried a disk image with Clone CD, and I tried copying the files to the harddrive and burning a data CD (with whatever software came with the Sony)- neither worked (though the data CD was at least acknowledged by the Mac, but all the extensions on the copied files were changed and didn't work). Any other ideas?

I know Nero can write Mac images but I don't know if it can read them. My Mac has a burner so I never really had to try it.

This program might help, too. Or not.

Nero disc copy has worked for me in the past, when I needed to dupe a Mac disk using a PC.
