Can I use a monitor as the display for PS2?

yes, unfortuenlty it looks like crap. I had a Viewsonic Nextvision 5 one of the better scan converters and much better than a TV card, but it still looked crappy on my monitor (Dell 1900FP)

Hrmm, well I think any monitor would beat this TV . How much was it and where did you buy it if I might ask? Nice monitor BTW :beer:.

a tv tuner card is quite chep. but of course its worthless if u have just the monitor sans the pc.
