Can I use a Laptop as a secondary Monitor?

I need to keep my primary rig going but I need it's monitor for the new rig... Can I just use the video capability of the Laptop and pump the video signal from the primary desktop to the laptop screen?

I don't know of a hardware solution (laptops generally use LVDS video internally, not DVI). But I suppose you could use remote desktop to control your primary rig from your laptop (or your new rig for that matter)

Yes you can. Check out this proggy called Maxivista. Works surprisingly well. Connect the computers over a lan, install on pc and laptop. The laptop will show up as a secondary display device on the primary pc.
