I’ve been out of the game for a while and I need to check with you guys before I pull the trigger on upgrading my current GPU. My current rig:

Abit IP35 Pro mobo
Q9450 cpu
2x2gb gskill PC2-8000
BFG 6800gt (as you can see, it’s been a loooong time since I’ve gamed on the pc)
Corsair 620HX PSU
Win7 64bit
and a few hdd's

Everything runs fine except my video card is ancient. So, the question is, will I have any problem replacing my 6800gt with a gtx460, assuming all other parts remain the same? I think I'm leaning towards the 1gb Gigabyte card b/c everyone seems to agree it runs relatively cool and quiet.

However, I noticed that the card is pci express 2.0 and my board is just a regular pci express 1.0. From everything I’ve read it seems like the card should work b/c it’s backwards compatible, but I wanted to double-check here first.

I’d prefer not to replace the board right now, but I will if need be.

Hey guys, thanks for the quick responses. I guess now it's time to figure out where I'll be buying my card.
