Just bought a Dell PC for my wife. I usually build my own PCs, but Dell has such good prices for everyday-use PCs, that I couldn't resist just getting a Dell. I got the PC with 256 MB of RAM and then bought a PC3200 400 Mhz 256 MB module from Newegg.

I thought the Dell system would use PC32000 400 Mhz memory, but it looks like the motherboard is set to 333 Mhz memory. I put in the PC3200 module and the system seems fine, but I was wondering if there will be any system stability issues. So the question is will 400 Mhz memory clock down to 333 Mhz automatically and will this setup be an issue? Thanks.

Yep, it will always run only as fast as the slowest componet.

It'll be fine.
