I'd only do it if there's a drop in parts I can use, cost under $1,000 and give me a significant power gain.

Aren't those pretty front heavy? Would think that if you put too much power back there, you'd have a spin out.

*turns blue in the face from laughing so hard*
You act like the 3.0 in your Mazda is a 302 or a 350. Please. That's the funniest thing I think I've ever read on these forums.
A stock caddy with a northstar V8 could beat a ricer to begin with.Originally posted by: Walleye
is there an easy bolt on supercharger for a 500? 😀
/me wants to make an asskicking cadillac.

As if you can't do it already. I've owned quite a few ricers in my STOCK van.
Horsepower: 155 @ 5000rpm
Torque: 169 @ 4000rpm
Curb Weight: 3558 (more like 3450 since I have the center seat removed right now)
It's got slight advantage in power-to-weight over a 95 Civic LX and aboug 20% advantage in torque after factoring in weight difference.

Actually according to MSN, your curb weight is 3790 and your torque is 185
Curb Weight
Torque

I think you have this all wrong. You are the ricer. I mean, it's mostly ricers who use weight reduction first to get better times. Besides, weight reduction is a terrible way to get more acceleration.
A stock 2003+ corolla would still burn you. 😛
It most certainly is not.....Besides, weight reduction is a terrible way to get more acceleration.
No, ther isn't a bolt turbo kit for your vehicle and I don't think Mazda ever turbo charged their 3.0L V6.Originally posted by: NeoPTLD
Do they make turbocharger that works with the 3.0L Mazda engine used in their van?
I would guess around $3000+ for a custom set-up limited to 60-80hp increase over stock. The big problem is room, IIRC the extra room under you hood is on the front right side, so you would have to custom build a cross over exhaust and down pipe to mount the turbo there. If you add a intercooler that will have to plumbed as well. Then there is the reprogramming of the PCM to increase the fuel delivery while under boost not to mention upgrading the stock fuel pump and injectors to handle the additional fuel demand. If you went very basic you could run about 5-6 psi boost with maybe a better fuel pump, but you would only gain around 40-50hp.How much should I expect to pay? I saw a link turbovan.net and it will be pretty neat to be able to do 15 and under in a van.
