Can I try the Samsung NC10 in a store?

I've been pondering swapping my laptop for a Samsung NC10 netbook, but was wondering if there are any stores that often have them on display. I tried an EEPC and found it completely unusable, and as such would like to try the Samsung before buying it.

Aspires speakers suck at least N10's are better.

I was thinking of waiting for the N20 and dv2 instead of getting a S10 or HP 1000 now.

The NC10 has much longer battery life than the competition.

Sounds like I'm off to Best Buy....before I start looking for one on eBay. 🙂

Why? Was it the keyboard? If it was, then I've heard that the MSI Wind and Samsung NC10 have the biggest, best keyboards.

I wouldn't say they suck. I don't think you're going to find Audiophile level sound on any laptop, at any price, let alone a netbook.

I've been doing a bit of notebook/netbook shopping over the past week, both locally and online, and I the netbooks that I never saw anywhere locally were the MSI Wind (although Circuit City had the Wind based Averatec Buddy), Samsung NC10, and the Asus PC EE 1000 series. I hit all the major big box stores including Best Buy, Fry's, Circuit City (that was a mad house on Sat), Office Depot, Staples, Costco, and a few local PC stores. The Acer Aspire One was definitely the easiest one to find (blue), although the HP Mini (8.9") and Lenovo IdeaPad made frequent appearances also.

I personally wouldn't buy a netbook without having seen it in real life as the fit, finish, and/or functionality aren't that great on any of them (IMO) compared to even a cheap laptop so you'll have to decide what you are willing to sacrifice.

It would really depend on which Eee PC as well. The 700 series is way too small IMO, but the 900 series seemed to be pretty usable. Plus the addition of two finger scrolling (like a Mac) definitely was a bonus.

Hole in one. Hence the desire to try the NC10. The combination of good keyboard and great battery life (up to eight hours!) is a winner.

I've heard rumors of an NC10 replacement - how soon is it coming out?

I may actually replace my current laptop (Lenovo X61) with a MacBook. Not because I like Mac OS (though I'm likely to end up using a commercial OS due to Ubuntu's horrible power management killing battery life), but because they're well made, not excessively expensive, and have an almost-five-hour battery life.

Off course, Audiophile is off the table but the level of treble on the Aspire Ones is too much. Initially i was thinking that netbooks in general would sound more like my old Apple ibook G3 but it was not that good and i did like the sound on the Samsung Nc10 and HP 1000 a lot better than the aspire One.
