how would this look on my car's front?
the plate

My car's front

wouldn't it look bit weird because there would be two mazda logos on the front?

---prev. entry---
Many times I see cars without the license plate on the front, only has ones in rear.

Can I do that in Massachusetts? What's the law?

plus, I want to get a nice decorative silver plate that reads 'mazda 6' (my car) I've seen them before, where can I get them?

My wife's friend did this in NY. But then again her Uncle is a cop so if she gets pulled over they always let her go.

We have front plates here in Virginia and by law they are required to be there. That said I once ran a little 10 year experiment to see if anyone actually gave the slightest bit of attention to the front plates by not updating the year sticker on it. In that 10 year period we were asked about it a grand total of once. I suspect any moves towards actually doing away with the requirement in states like mine would result in a ton of screaming from the small but vocal safety nazi groups.

I haven't had a plate on the front of my car for 3 yrs, only got pulled over once, and got a warning....still not on there. I don't have a holder for it otherwise I would put it on there

I think the front plate is required in Massachusetts.

As for the plate frame, I'd check eBay. I see several on there right now.

Same here in Ohio, but since i'm from Florida and i am embarrassed to have the tags when i'm home, i took it off. I got pulled over once for it in some hick BFE town in north Ohio, in two years thats pretty good.

I've gotten a total of 6 tickets for having the plate in my front windshield instead of bolted to the bumper. But both cars (my old GTI and the Fiero) are missing a place to mount it. I'm not willing to drill holes in the car for a friggin plate. So I pay the $32 each time. :|

Crap. That reminds me, I got one in DC a couple of years ago and I still haven't paid it.

I dont know why some states require them. They just dont seem necessary. But I may just be biased here because my state has never required them. w00t!

If your car is licensed in a state that requires a front plate but you live and/or drive in a state that doesn't require a front plate, do you have to use the front plate?

Conversely, if you're licensed somewhere where you don't need a front plate but live and/or drive in a state where it is required, do you have to have one?

That is illegal, If you live in one state and your vehicle is registered in another, your registration will be yanked if you get caught.

No, BUT, a cop can still puul you over and ticket you, go to court and it will be dropped.

Let me explain. My home is in Nebraska where a front plate is required. That's where my car is registered since that is my permanent residence. I go to school in Illinois where a front plate is also required. However, until January, I am living and working in Indiana where a front plate is not required. Neither Indiana nor Illinois is technically my residence but since I'm going to be in Indiana for four months, think any cops would give me trouble if I took my plate off while I'm here? I guess there's only one real way to find out...

Man does my car look better without it. Taking it off sure is tempting.
