can I substitute vinegar with anything?

I have a recipe that calls for 1 tablespoon of it but I don't have any.

Well, vinegar's an acid, and car batteries contain acid, so it stands to reason that you should be able to pour some fluid out of your battery...

Try wine.

Wine/vinegar are actually pretty close, chemically.
If you let grapes ferment incorrectly, it will turn into vinegar.

Use regular vegetable oil. Just my suggestion though.:p
