The Iwill KK266-R in my parents system sh!t the bed, and I'm trying to get their system up and running for as cheap as possible. Currently it has a 1330MHz T-Bird with 512MB PC133 SDRAM.

Can ya still buy a mobo that will support PC133 SDRAM? This mobo has the Via KT133a chipset.

Am I looking at a mobo AND RAM upgrade? If so, should I just upgrade the cpu to a Barton?

Yeah, going with something dirt cheap like that is the most cost effective solution. I didn't see a reseller rating for them offhand though, and they don't have any of the seals I like to see a site proudly display. Probably be fine though, and it's not much money to risk. If you want to take a chance on a refurb, Newegg has the K7S5Apro for $36 shipped
link and it's a faster chipset than the KT133 series even with SDRAM I should think. Plus it gives you the upgrade path to DDR and the whole line of XP CPUs later without switching boards :)

Actually pricewatch is terrible as a judge of vendor reliability brudda :) I have read the staff here specifically state the reason they don't use pricewatch listings is because of how many disreputable companies troll through them.

Thanks guys, but I talked my parents into upgrading the cpu, mobo, and ram. I'll just sell this stuff on ebay.
